The lawyer explained why Slidstvo.Info spreads false information about the Romanian passport of Dubinskyi

Slidstvo.Info’s spread of false information that MP Aleksandr Dubinskyi has Romanian citizenship has two goals, MP’s lawyer Tatyana Kostina says during a press conference:

•to prevent the participation of Dubinskyi in the mayoral election in Kyiv;

•to stop the investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine regarding illegal surveillance and the collection of confidential information by Slidstvo.Info concerning senior officials of the United States of America.

The investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was initiated directly by MP Dubinskyi and his lawyer Tatyana Kostina on January 22, 2020. It refers to illegal surveillance in Ukraine, the collection of data about correspondence, and meetings of US officials. There are at least 7 people involved, and Kostina lists their names:

• US Attorney General William Barr;

• US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo;

• Senator Chuck Grassley;

• Senator Ron Johnson,

• Senator Tom Cotton;

• Congressman Adam Schiff;

• Congressman Devin Nunez.

At first, the case was opened regarding only one episode - against the US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Jovanovic.

“Aleksandr Dubinskyi and I have a common goal - to make law enforcement agencies to investigate any illegal acts committed against American citizens, including top officials on the territory of Ukraine, in order not to damage the Ukrainian-American relations,” Kostina emphasizes.

It is necessary to establish who ordered illegal surveillance and collection of intelligence in Ukraine. The responsible authorities are already working on it. It is obvious from "Slidstvo.Info"’s actions that they are at the epicenter of this story.

According to Kostina, “Slidstvo.Info” is funded by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the US Embassy. And Anna Babinets, who heads it, is also a representative of OCCRP in Ukraine. Initially, “Slidstvo.Info " was founded by Drew Sullivan and Paul Radu.

“Moreover, Paul Radu is the director of this organization and he has always been in close ties with Romania. This project is mainly funded by George Soros, the US Agency for International Development, and the US Department of State,” Tatyana Kostina says.

She confirmed that the information about Aleksandr Dubinskyi’s Romanian citizenship is nothing but fake news to undermine the authority of the deputy. Moreover, many attempts have been made to meet with the Romanian ambassador to Ukraine. However, the meeting has not yet taken place.
